People,
Jess and I are handing the keys to the bar back to the council in the next couple of days assuming we can work something out over fixtures, fittings and stock.
Neil at the council has arranged for stock and equipment valuation for this Thursday, whereupon the council will assume full resposibility for the Players Rest facility. I do know the council is desperate (as are we) for the bar to re-open and I know a limited service will be almost immediately available, with a new tenant being sought urgently by the council, so put the word out!
As I understand things, it might be possible for an interested party to rent the cafe as opposed to a commercial lease which was our arrangement, thereby cheapening and speeding up any takeover process. let's hope against hope that normal service will be resumed ASAP.
As always, Jess and I thank you all for supporting us for the last amazing 3.5 years at the cafe, we could not have survived without the squash club, and that's a fact!
